Online post leads to arrest of child rapist
MEADVILLE – Jordan M. Parks, who was wanted by Sharon police in connection with a child rape, was captured Monday in Meadville.
Parks, 22, who was this week's Crawford County's "Most Wanted," was arrested less than five hours after an online posting on meadvilletribune.com and on The Meadville Tribune's Facebook page, according to Chief Deputy Lt. Neil Fratus of the Crawford County Sheriff's Office.
Parks, 22, was found at 9:30 p.m. at an apartment complex in Meadville after the "Most Wanted" article was posted online. About a dozen calls were received regarding Parks' whereabouts after the 4:45 p.m. online post, Fratus said.
The Crawford County Sheriff's Department and Meadville Police Department took Parks into custody without incident, they said. Parks said he didn't know why authorities were at the apartment complex to arrest him, according to Fratus.
Parks was wanted by Sharon police on nine charges in connection with the rape of a 9-year-old girl. He was supposedly staying in the Meadville area, which led to the Crawford County Sheriff's Department including Parks on its weekly "Most Wanted" list.
The Herald has previously published addresses for Parks in Wheatland and Hartstown.
